General Information & Reccommendations

    • International Guests! Plan & Book Flights Early for sharper deals to Cape Town International Airport.

    • Mobility in Cape Town: If you're comfortable driving on the left-hand side and navigating some hilly terrain, renting a car is an easy and budget-friendly option. However, Uber is widely available, reliable, and also very affordable for getting around.

    • How do I get to / from the venue? We will have Shuttle Services to specific locations – Keep an eye on the website. There is sufficient parking onsite for the designated drives, however also well within reach for Ubers.

    • Tip Culture: For sit-down service, a minimum tip of 10% is expected — and we recommend sticking to it, as it’s genuinely appreciated and helps avoid any awkward moments. At more upscale restaurants, a standard 12.5% gratuity is often added automatically to the bill.

    • Weather: December is normally warm and sunny. Bring sunscreen and a light jacket.

    • Plug type M: Bring a universal adapter.

    • Loadshedding: There could be occasional power cuts. Keep phones charged and carry a power bank.

  • Cape Town is a breathtaking city, and while we absolutely love it, we’re also aware of its challenges. Like many big cities, it has safer “bubbles” so;

    • Avoid walking alone after dark, especially in the CBD or quiet neighborhoods.

    • Stick to well-lit, busy areas, and use reputable transport options like Uber or Bolt.

    • If you are planning to hike, go in a group, start early, and stay on marked trails

    • Keep valuables (tech & jewelry) out of sight in public.

    • Use ATMs inside malls or banks where possible.

    • Be cautious of “helpers” at ATMs — politely decline unsolicited assistance.

    • Credit cards are widely accepted, but it’s good to carry some cash for tips

    • We recommend Revolut for ease of use — and a heads-up: the Rand currently sits around 20 to 1 Euro

  • Police emergency: 10111

    Ambulance/Medical: 10177

    For a more immediate local response, many tourists and locals use Namola, a free safety app.
